The generous common space invites you to read, share the table and exchange experiences with other travellers or to have a Scrabble game at nightfall. The three rooms – living room and dining room with open fire on the ground floor and the two reading rooms on the intermediate and first floor – allow each guest to find “his/her” place and encourage to benefit from the free cafeteria-self-service with fair trade tea and coffee.

In September 2005 A Casa da Eira achieved the quality certification “Q Calidad Turística”.

The double rooms (135x200 double bed) are spacious and comfortable with en suite bathroom. Four of the five rooms (first floor) face the garden (south) and the fifth room (ground floor) has a private entrance (north) and is fully accessible by wheelchair.

Home-made dinners can be arranged on appointment. Following the season we use vegetables from our organic vegetable garden. We shall also be pleased to serve you our breakfast which includes fresh orange juice, cake, firewood-oven bread, cheese, ham or sausage, butter and homemade marmalades all made of self-picked fruit from our garden such as raspberry, black and red currant, cherry, strawberry, pear, peach.

Breakfast is served from 09:30 to 11:00 and dinner is served at 21:00.

Numerous activities are available in the surrounding area such as hill walking, canoeing, climbing, swimming in the nearby dam, mountain biking, adventure sports, boat excursions through the River Sil Canyon, cultural trips (visit to the monasteries of the Ribeira Sacra area) and panoramic trips, craftsmanship and visits to wine cellars (AOC Ribeira Sacra).

You can also enjoy day trips to Ourense (50 km) with its beautiful old town and the thermae “A Chavasqueira”, Allariz (50 km) one of the most enchanting Galician villages, the Rías Baixas beaches (100 km) and Santiago de Compostela (100 km).

By Car:
Option 1
- Exit Ourense in the direction of Trives (C-536).
- 7 km from Ourense (Embalse de Cachamuiña), take a turn on the left in the direction of Luintra.
- Once you are in Luintra, follow directions to Parada do Sil.
- Cross the village of Loureiro and continue over the principal road until you see a sign on the left towards Alberguería (next village after Parada Seca).

Option 2
From the N-120:
- Arrive at Os Peares.
- Exit the N-120, follow the sign (Peares 500 metres) turning right towards the village.
- Again, turn right before the old bridge.
- Follow the signs towards the Monastery of San Estevo de Ribas de Sil.
-Then pass the dam of San Pedro and the dam of San Estevo.
-Continue always over the principal road (do not take any detour) until the village of Loureiro.
-Turn left heading towards Parada do Sil and continue until you see a sign on the left towards Alberguería (next village after Parada Seca).

A Casa da Eira is an ancient farm house from 1920 restored in traditional style in 2001. We are 30 minutes from Ourense and 10 minutes from the Parador de Santo Estevo.

The accommodation includes a generous common space, a garden facing south and a balcony from which one can enjoy a view on the River Sil Canyon.

A Casa da Eira is situated in Galicia, in the province of Ourense, in the midst of the historic area of “The Ribeira Sacra” with its considerable number of Romanesque monasteries. Our village, Alberguería, is located at the upper part of the River Sil Canyon and surrounded by hundred-year-old chestnut woods.

Disabled Facilities:
We have one room which is fully accessible to wheelchairs (ground floor) as well as the breakfast and dinning room. The 1st floor and the garden are not accessible.

Smoking is not allowed inside the accommodation.

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 30 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first two nights will be charged.

Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.
All older children or adults are charged EUR 22.47 per night and person for extra beds.
Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.

Deposit Policy: 40 percent of the total amount will be charged on the day of booking and is refundable.
