The Brasserie: Formerly the main schoolroom/assembly hall. Large room with high ceiling, tall mullioned windows and log burner. Breakfast served in here also. Common Room: formerly the kindergarten of the Victorian School. More intimate than former room but still has high ceiling, tall mullioned window and log burner. Formal dining area also used for private lunches/dinners and meetings.

Formerly a Victorian school, this wonderful hotel, grade II-listed, is the perfect place to stay. Close to Swindon, minutes from the M4 (J16), yet set in the Wiltshire countryside, on the borders of the Cotswolds.

Business travellers will welcome all the usual business facilities including free wifi internet access and meeting rooms. Car hire, station and airport transfers can be arranged. Leisure travellers will enjoy the gardens and places of interest, such as Oxford, Marlborough, Cheltenham, Stonehenge, the Cotswolds, Bath and Avebury, all of which are within easy driving distance. The Great Western Designer Outlet is 4 miles away, an ideal shopping location. The Ridgeway is very close, ideal for walking. All visitors will appreciate our location and look forward to returning at the end of the day for a drink in the bar, a light meal in the Brasserie or a 4-course candlelit dinner in the Common Room. Seafood, particularly oysters, mussels and scallops, are our speciality. Log fires will be burning in Winter, the outside terrace will be serving cool drinks and delicious food in the Summer.

All guests are checked out by email, fax or post on departure. Payment for room charges is taken one working day prior to arrival with the remainder of any charges charged on departure. Reservations of 4 or more days duration will incur a non-refundable deposit of 20% charged to the credit card on the day that the reservation is made. Reservations for guests with a different person's credit card will not be accepted. Credit card holders are required to be present. A 50 GBP non-refundable deposit is required for special offers.

Peak period bookings require full non-refundable prepayment 30 days prior to arrival. The hotel will notify guests by email if they have booked during a peak period. If the guest does not then wish to adhere to this prepayment they can cancel immediately without charge. Reservations not taken up by 22:00 are deemed as 'non arrival' unless prior arrangements are agreed. 'Non arrival' reservations are charged in full.

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 4 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
All children under 3 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
All children under 2 years are charged GBP 5.00 per night and person for cots.
All older children or adults are charged GBP 15.00 per night and person for extra beds.
Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.

Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged.

VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included.
Service charge is included.
City/tourist tax is not applicable.

Internet: Wireless internet is available in some hotel rooms and is free of charge.
